Nose Surgery (Rhinoplasty) often dramatically alters and strengthens the profile and creates a totally new look for the face. For a number of reasons, the shape of the nose may be out of proportion to the rest of the face – it may be too large, the tip may be bulbous, or there may be a "hump" in the bridge of the nose. In addition to appearance, the structure of the nose may limit breathing or aggravate sinus problems. Plastic surgery may be effective in remedying these.

The external shape of the nose is determined by what lies beneath it, an arrangement of bone and cartilage. Changing the shape of the nose requires removing, shifting or altering this underlying bone and cartilage. The skin is then re-draped over the new foundation and creates the new look.
Before surgery, we study the relationship of the nose to other facial features, especially the chin. In some cases, the chin also needs to be altered to balance facial proportions.
The surgery is performed in our surgicenter with the option of an overnight stay. The new nasal contours become evident within two weeks but fine details require several more weeks.
