Body Contouring surgery deals with two different problems: excess skin that sometimes results from past pregnancy or extremes in weight gain or loss; and localized deposits of fat that are resistant to dieting. Neither procedure is designed as a method of weight loss. The skin should posses enough elasticity to conform to the new contours.

Abdominoplasty, commonly called a "tummy tuck", removes the excess skin of the abdomen and gives the stomach a flat and firm look. Stretch marks on the lower tummy are eliminated. Incisions are placed low on the abdomen to hide them within the body’s natural creases. Often a "tummy tuck" is performed at the same time as a hysterectomy or other pelvic surgery. An overnight stay is usually required.

Suction Lipoplasty vaporizes fat from problem areas that do not respond to dieting and exercise. Those areas typically include the hips, inner thighs, knees and flanks. Short, inconspicuous incisions are made into the skin’s natural fold and a small tube or cannula, is inserted under the skin to vaporize the fat cells. "Tumescent" fluid injection and ultrasonic technology are standardized components. The procedure is performed in our surgicenter. You can resume most activity in seven to fourteen days.
